Sodium bicarbonate is mainly obtained from table salt or sodium chloride (NaCl), where chlorine (Cl) is replaced by carbonate (HCO3-).

Sodium bicarbonate is a versatile and beneficial compound that can aid in digestion, promote healthy pH levels in the body, and support overall wellness.

Description

Sodium bicarbonate is known to be used for a very long time, at least from early antiquity, as well the ancient Egyptians extracted sodium bicarbonate from lakes in the Natron Valley.

Sodium bicarbonate is slightly alkaline, so it binds and neutralizes all acids and converts them into neutral salts and carbonic acid. Baking soda is now used in baking for muffins, pretzels, in the cosmetic chemical industry, in the production of natural cleaners, and in medicine, especially in acidosis – acidification of the body, constipation, gout, burning and swollen feet, as a means of personal hygiene, as eco spray, etc.
